Occasionally people will ask if my license plate "HORT" has something to do with plants. It does not.
For as long as I can remember grandmother, Hortense Levy, had the Connecticut license plate "HORT" on her car. When I inherited her car, I decided to continue the tradition, so I applied for the license plate "HORT" when I registered the car in Massachusetts. When I traded-in her car, I kept the license plate and transfered it to the new car.
When we cleaned out her basement, we found a license plate from the 1940's that said "HORT". Which suggests that she had that she had been using "HORT" for her license plate for more than 50 years.
